When opeing the awning on your RV, sometimes the RV awning strap gets in the way when the RV awning is fully retracted. This is evening more of a problem with RV parks located in windy areas. But, there is a simple and cost effective solution to the issue. One remedy is to use a chip-clip, or a clothes pin, to secure the strap to the awning post, or to itself folded up.

Some rig owners simply remove the strap from the grooves and store it in the bay until it is retracted closed. Others prefer to loop the RV awning strap around the awning arm a few times.
