RV Tips : HVAC Ideas
Having trouble getting the heating and cooling just right in your rig? Here's a few hints to help you out.
If you have a roof type A/C unit and use a rotating type ceiling air vent, be sure that your vent outlets are not located near, or are directed to the thermostat. If this happens, then cold air may hit your RV thermostat and make it very difficult to stabilize the inside temperatures of your RV. This has been known to cause mnay rig owns to believe that their HVAC is not working or broke.
The same goes for you heater vents. If they are directed or near the wall where the thermostat is located, then your RV may seem chilly at times because the warm air is hitting the RV thermostat.
In addition, if your thermostat is in the direct sunlight every morning, the A/C has a chance to kick on and make it very cold in the cooler months. In this case, placing a small sun screen or shade over the window or thermostat will help.
For RV'ers who have a rig with the thermostat near the refrigerator, you may need to find a way to direct the heat from the fridge away from the thermostat.
