Long Lake Campground:
Long Lake Park is built on 62 acres of rolling, wooded hills and large grassy fields. We center our swimming, fishing and picnicking around our 60 acre spring fed glacial lake.
Long Lake Campground is an RV Park and Campground in Ashland, Ohio. The park is very nice and the owner, Doug, and his family were very helpful to our friends who are new to owning an RV. This campground is well layed out and get in good condition. Each camp space has plenty of room and does not crowd another lot. Kids really enjoy their new in-gound pool and play area.
The RV Park and campground has closed the lake-side swimming area though. this is due to the problem with lake swimmers jumping in the pool and causing havoc with the pool chemical balance.
Fishing off the pier is nice, and the lake is clean or deris. Kids can fish off the pier and catch bluegill, with hopes to hook crappie or bass. the camp rents boats at $10/hr or $50/day. This may be a little steep for most campers; they may want to rethink their boat rental rates and update their fleet with some newer craft. The shoreline was thick with lily pads which make it difficult to fish from. It isn't very kid-fishing with all the snags in the weeds.
the campground recently added a game room and recreation facility. It also added several cabins which can be rented out. The game room is a great place for teens to hangout and spend time together. These buildings were clean and well kept, and the kids had a lot of fun playing games and climbing on the the new climber in the play area.
Another benefit of Long Lake Campgrounds location is that it is near the Mohican Canoe livery. Mohican is a popular destination for canoeing and camping. Another great reason to visit Long Lake Campground.
This campground is very nice, well groomed and the people are friendly. I recommend it as a place to visit if you are in Ashland on your next trip.
So this RV park and Campground gets an RV review rating of 7 out of 10.
